Semaglutide is a medication used for chronic weight control in overweight or obese adults. It works by mimicking the hormone GLP-1, which acts in the brain to reduce appetite and increase feelings of satiety, thereby promoting weight loss. To achieve the best results, it is essential to accompany its use with a nutritious diet and constant physical activity.
Foods to avoid:
Sugary foods and drinks including fruit.
Carbohydrates: Wheat, corn, rice, oats, bread, pasta, white potatoes.
Alcohol
Additional tips:
Drink plenty of water.
Eat regularly and eat a diet high in protein and vegetables.
Eat small amounts every 3.5 to 4 hours.
Lift weights at least 4 times a week.
Possible side effects (first 2-3 weeks):
Headache (Tylenol and berries recommended)
Diarrhea (decrease or eliminate carbohydrate intake)
Constipation (take soluble fiber such as Metamucil)
Nausea (take dimenhydrinate or dramamine)
How does it work?
